More than just a Wine Lounge, Complexity Wine is establishing a creative wine experience built around a discovery of sensory— an exploration of wine, innovative food pairings and gourmet cheese offerings.  In addition to our amazing wine and food offerings, we are looking to set a new standard of style, and service here in the Antelope Valley.

Host/Hostess

The right candidate for this exceptional opportunity will be able to exhibit passion for excellence, sophistication, culinary vision, flair for service, and lifestyle. The selected candidate will help Complexity Wine’s owners in their vision of creating an innovative and exceptional experience for every customer with the best wine and food has to offer.

Customer service is our number one priority, and the Host/Hostess will be responsible for upholding our high standards of excellence as you welcome our guests. You will help to ensure that our sophisticated, friendly, hardworking, and warm work environment flows throughout the dining room. As a Host/Hostess you have the opportunity to provide an exceptional experience for every guest that walks in our door and leave them with a lasting impression.

Responsibilities:

  • Ambassador for the brand and mission of Complexity Wine with outstanding hospitality.

  • Our Hosts’ and Hostesses greet, welcome, and direct all guests upon arrival.

  • They remain in constant communication with management and servers to ensure wait times are minimal and the guest feels acknowledged and taken care of.

  • They monitor the flow of the restaurant and seat guests appropriately, accounting for servers and sections.

  • All members of our team remain positive and welcoming in any situation and take pleasure in providing outstanding service not only the guests but for the greater good of the entire establishment.

  • Team work is very important to us as we are all working towards the same goal: superb guest service.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the facilities, equipment, and service wear.

  • Stock and maintain all supplies, food items, and utensils.

  • Serve food and beverages to customers when requested.

  • Assemble and package food and beverage products for take-out.

  • Comply with all Complexity Wine processes and procedures.

  • Ensure strict adherence to health department and food handling guidelines.

  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.

  • Report to station, ready to work at the time work assignment is scheduled to begin.

  • Communicate all guest requests to assigned server in a timely and professional manner.

  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrence and hazardous conditions.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

  • California Food Handlers card (within 30 days of hire).

  • Training for Intervention Procedures Certification (Tips) (within 30 days of hire, if over 18).

  • Positive and upbeat personality is required.

  • Great organizational skills.

  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to focus on details.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Must be articulate, and conduct professional demeanor.

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.

  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.

  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong guest service orientation.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests.).

  • Knowledge of health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.

  • Ability to work in a team environment exercising adequate leadership.

  • Ability to accept constructive criticism and work calmly and effectively under pressure.

  • Guest service orientation and commitment to quality service.

  • Have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated.

  • General computer skills for operation of an online booking system.

  • Be able to work with and understand financial information, data and basic arithmetic functions.

  • Be able to operate Point-of-sale terminal and workstations.

Work Environment:

  • Generally, indoors.

  • Work is performed in the dining area.

  • Will be using a computer regularly.

  • We are a drug-free workplace and retain the right to do random drug testing.
